1000.26 – Nasty Page Fold

A nasty way to mark your place in the book you’re reading is to fold down the top corner of the page. Fortunately, it doesn’t work very well, as the folded-down page is often hard to spot. It is with considerable trepidation that I report to you that it is possible to fold a book’s page so that the page protrudes from the rest of the book and is easy to spot. This causes even greater destruction but, for the sake of scientific inquiry, see if you can figure out how to do it. Practice on some thick paperback.

Solution

Fold on the dotted line in the accompanying figure. The top corner will stick out at the top of the book.
